Merry Christmas!

This Christmas we stayed in Virginia. It was my first Christmas without having family around. So needless to say it was pretty quite. As soon as we put Ben to bed on Christmas Eve, Doug had his first real experience playing Santa Clause. In the morning Doug woke me up so that we could go and get Ben out of his bed, together. Ben seemed pretty excited. Here are some pictures of Ben opening and playing with his new toys!

Some of the traditions we started this year were new PJ's on Christmas Eve and stockings first thing Christmas morning

Ben loves fruit!! So we had to stop everything so that he could eat the Clementine that he got in his stocking.

Later in the day our friends Chris and the Oliver family came over. Doug, Chris and Bryant all read the instructions for cooking the turkey very carefully. They didn't want to mess up, so they actually called in reinforcements, to make sure they were doing things right.

While waiting for dinner to be done, Ben played with Chris, So that Doug and I could finish dinner. It’s so nice to have someone distract Ben while I am cooking.

Chris is so patient with Ben.

After dinner we went to see the lights at the Washington D.C. Temple. Man, they did a good job. The grounds looked awesome. Boy, it was cold though!!
