Palymra, New York

Last week Doug was with the Boy Scouts on their high adventure, backpacking through Pennsylvania. When they were done backpacking they went up to Palmyra, New York to see the LDS Church sites. And since Doug was already up there and going up to that part of the country was on my list of things to do before we leave VA. I decided to join them. So I packed up the car and kids and drove 7 hours up to New York. The kids did awesome on the long car ride, Genevieve slept the whole way and Ben watched the same movie over and over again.
While we were there we saw a classic car show. This was really so that we could take pictures of Ben with some of the cars that Grandpa Terry goes nuts over. This car was Ben's favorite car. I believe it is a Corvette, Sting Ray. It started to rain while we were at the Hill Cumorah. So Doug and Ben took a cookie break while watching the storm. Funny story about the milk and cookies that Ben was eating. I had gone inside the Visitors Center to use the bathroom and when I came out, Ben had milk and cookies in his hands. When I asked him where he got them, she said that some old lady gave them to him. Doug didn't seem to bothered by the fact that Ben now had milk and cookies. When I asked Doug what random old lady gave Ben milk and cookies, he laughed. Turns out the old lady that gave him the milk and cookies was our Bishops wife. She is NOT old.
Genevieve waiting patiently for the rain to stop so that we could see the sights.
There's no time like the present to learn how to drive.
She is not quite tall enough to see over the steering wheel.

These two pictures were taken in Joseph Smith's home. It was amazing to walk through this home and see where the Prophet Joseph Smith lived as a young boy.
Doug and Ben in the Sacred Grove. It was a really neat experience to be in the Sacred Grove with my little family. To know that Heavenly Father and his son Jesus Christ were here in this grove of trees. I am really glad that I got to see all of these wonderful church sites. This whole experience strengthed my testimony of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. That Jesus Christ choose Joseph Smith to restore his true church upon the earth, and the pains that Joseph Smith went through so that the true church of Christ could be restored.
