The Name Game

Now that we know that our baby is a Girl. We are trying agree on a name that we both like. We had a girls name picked out when I was pregnant with Ben, but that name doesn't feel right. We do have a couple of first names that we really like, but can't seem to figure out the middle name. (Don't bother asking what they are because we won't tell you.) I lay awake thinking about names to tell Doug in the morning. Only to get shot down, by one of his comments like; I dated a girl by that name, I knew a girl by that name and she was mean, or he will figure out a way to make fun of the name. How are you ever going to name a child, if that name reminds you of someone that you knew by that name!! (especially when your husband is as creative as Doug is!) So for know I guess we will keep calling her the name Benjamin picked out. Baby Ernie has been her name since before we knew it was a girl. Trust me though, it won't be her name!

Gina, that sounds just like Buck when we were trying to figure out names. I like baby Ernie, that is so cute. :)

LOL baby ernie! That is so cute.

Kristen would make a great middle name. You know a girl by that name and she is not mean! :D

I am so excited to hear the name I love that it is a secret, It makes me more excited for you to have the baby. I am feeling pretty confident that ours is a boy so thinking of you having a girls name is even more exciting.

I have an aunt named Erna (we call her aunt annie) so you aren't too far off base. Good luck deciding: its the worst and best part of a new baby. Besides, you did great with Ben, no worries picking a girl's name!

I am in your EXACT same boat!!! With Isabelle we had our boy names picked out and agreed upon, but she ended up being a girl. This time around we weren't feeling the previous boy names that we had, so it was back to the drawing board. Except my husband doesn't want to talk about it for another THREE months!!!! Oh well! My sister and I both really like the name Quinn for a girl.

How about 'Doug', he won't have anything bad to say about that name! ;) 'Gina' would work too, he can't shoot that name down either. Good luck! But I think no matter what you name your girl, she'll still be called 'Ernie'!
