We (when I say "we", I am "I") decided that while we were in Utah it was the perfect time to have Genevieve blessed. I really wanted to share this special day with family. As it turned out Doug's parents were in town too, so they were able there too. So on August 22nd, Doug was able to bless Genevieve in my parents ward.
Many people have asked me where we came up with the name Genevieve. So I'll tell you. Doug's Grandma's name is Geneva, and his mom's name is Evelyn, but she goes by Eve. So we decided to melt the two names together and wahla, Genevieve Lynn Hurst.
My mom made her dress and I think it turned out beautiful!Even though this isn't the best picture, I think its pretty cute. Genevieve always has her fingers in her mouth! Four generations: my Grandma McEntire, my Mom, Genevieve and I.It was really nice to see some of Doug's siblings, it has been a couple of years since we have seen them. I am so grateful for Doug's parents and for the way they raised him, they have played such a big part in making Doug the man that he is today.
Our cute little family on Genevieve's special day. I am so grateful for a husband that honors his priesthood and can give our children blessings. It is truly a blessing to have a worthy priesthood holder in our home.
Heavenly Father has truly blessed me with a wonderful family! I am so grateful for my family and for the unconditional love that they have for me. I just can't put into words how much I love my family and what they mean to me.

Gina! This is a fabulous posting. I love the way you came up with the name for your sweet baby. Funny how much Grandma Geneva hates her name and yet it's filtered down thru every generation (more than once each time). She can't stop us from loving and honoring her. The whole story and pictures were somehow very touching. Thanks for sharing.
What a BEAUTIFUL baby! I love the name too. Congratulations!
Your daughter is beautiful. You have the cutest kids. What a wonderful story of how she got her name. I love it!
I just love your family.
I'm so happy you sat in front of us at church that one time, can you come do it some more? That was fun.
Plus your kids are really cute.
I stole your family picture (the second one from the bottom) for the Family video I'm putting together. I hope you don't mind?
